Manager of Video Development
Since starting in 2021, my job at Marriott Vacations Worldwide has been an adventure that’s taken me to places I’d only ever dreamed about.
Moving from Atlanta to Orlando was no easy task. It took nearly an act of Congress to buy a home at the end of 2021. In fact, I started my job with MVW almost 2 months before my partner and I were even settled into our home. That was just the beginning of this ongoing story as “Manager of Video Development.“
My proposed role: shoot incredible, high-end destination and story-driven content to represent the brands of MVW, Marriott Vacation Club, Sheraton Vacation Club, and Westin Vacation Club.
My actual role: technical development of production including software and video equipment purchasing, budget management, and gear upkeep. Technical development of an asset management server acting as information liaison between our team, our IT team, and the solution provider. Installation and initiation of asset server. User management of several video team systems. Editor, producer, and director of different content across internal and external video projects and most recently, internal studio management and set-up.
Job Highs: traveling across the United States and Mexico to film content, including Maui, Hawaii Island, Oahu, Hilton Head, South Carolina, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Orlando, Florida, Cancun, Mexico, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and the USVI.

Concierge Recommends
Concierge Reccomends
Project: Concierge Recommends
Concept: Film content across unique destinations partnering with an email blast after a customer books at the relevant destination to drive bookings with the concierge at the resort.
Project Highlights: Traveling to Maui, The Big Island, Oahu, Steamboat Springs, Hilton Head Island, and Cabo San Lucas. Using a wide variety of equipment in challenging locations. Working with an excellent producing team.
Skills Gained: Part 107 Drone License. FPV Flight time in unique locations. ATA Carnet and Customs procedures learned. Tilta Float Stabilizer System mastered.
Project Challenges: CR was my first project to film at MVW. In February of 2022, we were pushed to start filming content. The department had money to spend, but no clear direction. The only project we could latch onto was “concierge recommends.” Did we have a script? no. Did we have a clear direction on where our content would land, including the emails? Also, no. The biggest challenge: my creative director did not know how to direct talent leaving myself and the team to direct from camera with no cohesive vision. It took 3 trips before we had time to revise our direction, add a teammate videographer/producer/editor/director, and turn out cohesive content.
Steamboat Springs Resort
Project: Steamboat Springs Resort
Concept: Film destination content for Youtube.
Project Highlights: Working at an incredible ski-in and ski-out resort.
Skills Gained: Reinforced Directing and Producing Skills. FPV Flight in frigid temperatures. Day-night drone hyperlapse.
Project Challenges: Below-freezing temperatures and record snowfall in Steamboat Springs, Colorado 3 hours away from Denver. Tight schedules within a 100% occupancy resort. Our lead-actor was called out of production and had to be replaced the day before shooting began. Our delivery for rental gear only half arrived leaving us to scramble with a local PA to rent a Dana dolly.
